History of Parish
Koton-Karfe Parish originally used to be under the Cathedral, until 1956 when it was made a parish.
But for many years afterwards, it was been administered from Lokoja.
Fr. Antonio Masse CSSP came to Koton-Karfe as the first resident parish priest in 1962.
The Parish has many tribes who speak: Hausa, Gwari, Bassa, Gangana, Ebira and other major languages in Nigeria.
Koton-Karfe people themselves up till now refuse to embrace the Christian faith.
