History of Parish
St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church Korede Kabba was an outstation under Sacred Heart Parish Kabba until Sunday 5thof July, 2009 when it was created a Quasi Parish by Most Revd. Dr. Martin D.A Olorunmolu the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Lokoja. Rev. Fr. Stephen Abaukakar, who was then the Director of the Diocesan Pastoral Centre was appointed the first Parish Priest.
On the 1st of January 2011, Rev. Fr. Donatus Ogunleye was appointed the Acting Parish Priest while Fr. Joseph Icha was the Assistant Parish Priest. Although the Latter was replaced by Rev. Fr. Augustine Okafor. However, on the 22nd December 2012. The Bishop appointed Fr. Donatus Ogunleye the substantive Parish priest and he remained so until December 31st, 2014 when he handed over to Rev. Fr. Daniel Obibine.
Thus, the Parish was removed from the control of the personnels of the Diocesan Center. Now, following this appointment the Bishop made boundary adjustment such that the following out-stations formerly under Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish are now absorbed by Korede Parish. These out-stations include: (i) St. Daniel Catholic Church, Okebukun (ii) Ayangan (iii) St. Theresa Catholic Church, Odo-ape (NB: there are Six Tiv Camps popularly Known as the Daji’s.
They worship in their various camps every Sunday except on the last Sunday of the month when they gather at St. Theresa Catholic Church Odo-ape for the Mass).
